Program Area

Livelihoods, Nutrition & Food Security

Goal

To improve livelihoods and food security for vulnerable households by creating sustainable economic opportunities that build self-reliance and resilience.

The Challenge

Poverty remains a major driver of poor health, malnutrition, school dropout, and vulnerability to climate shocks. Women, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable children are disproportionately affected.

Women are overrepresented in informal, insecure and low-income work, and often carry the burden of unpaid care. Limited access to assets, finance, markets and decision-making power further constrains their ability to build resilient livelihoods.

Our Approach

We contribute to building a functional primary healthcare system through:

  • Entrepreneurship Capacity Enhancement

Business skills, financial literacy, enterprise incubation and mentorship—especially for women and youth.
  • Linkages to Enterprise Support Systems

Facilitating access to resources, capital, services and markets to overcome structural barriers.
  • Advocacy for Equitable Economic Systems

Supporting community-level advocacy to promote fair policies, norms and practices that enable women and youth to thrive.
