Gender Justice

Goal
To reduce harmful social norms and structural barriers that perpetuate gender inequality and violence.

The Challenge
Women and girls in Uganda continue to face persistent disparities in access, control and benefit from resources, opportunities and services due to entrenched social norms, cultural practices and systemic failures.
Gender inequality fuels poverty, limits education and economic participation, increases vulnerability to violence, and weakens resilience to climate and economic shocks—especially for women and girls in rural and low-income communities.
Our Approach
Our Gender Justice programme uses transformative approaches that shift norms, rebalance power, and strengthen protection and accountability systems at community level.
